I also have USAA insurance and they are great. I have insured almost 60 vehicles with them over the years.

Regarding tow insurance - universally, tow insurance will tow to the closest qualified repair center or garage. But I discovered that, at least through USAA, I could apply my insurance to front-end part of the cost then I could cover the rest. When my 1987 Mercedes 420 SEL broke down in Birmingham AL., USAA covered initial cost plus cost per mile to the nearest full service station then I covered the cost per mile for the rest of the trip to my house. Instead of almost $600, the tow cost me $420. This might seem like a lot until you understand it was a 110 mile tow!

John, I think you started this thread asking about USAA insurance for your van before it wandered off into AAA land. I have insured my vehicles, vanagons and non-vanagons, for over 30 years with USAA. No one has ever been able to beat them in price, and IMHO, service as well. Cheers, Ant in NE FL

I need a tow policy as well. What I've seen so far sucks! What good is a tow if they don't tow you where you NEED to go, versus where they want to take you. At some shops I wouldn't let them touch my van. They don't know what they are doing and they aren't to learn on my dime!
