Check the rear exhaust pipe near cylinder number 4. The Dansk pipes are not bent quit right and they tend to hit the rear carrier bar. New mounts help for only a short time. Getting the bar out of the way and using a big hammer to dent the pipe to make room is the fix. Problem? Symptom of problem? Plan of attack?I started getting a new "whack" when I start the engine. Like something was hitting that hadn't before.Inspecting the 4 in back and transmission mount doesn't really tell me much -- can't see enough. Just interested in your issue. I searched "motor mount" and wasn't able to find help. Jack BottsColumbia, MO '86 Vanagon Westfalia Weekender '14 Passat SE TDI
