I have a radiator fan from a 90's VW on the bench. Connected to a 12V battery it draws 15A continuous, 25A on startup. Add to that another slightly smaller fan inside the car and a compressor which I would bet consumes a lot more power than a fan.. if that really is 30A at 12V, the Chevy Volt has a very efficient AC system. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of kimbrennan@mac.com Sent: Friday, July 24, 2015 7:46 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Electric Power Steering Chevy Volt AC draws 30 amps. Got that from the mechanic at the dealer. |
