Another option is Geico Roadside Assistance their contract covers a tow to
the nearest dealer(of your brand) or your house whichever is closer and you
can pay the difference if you prefer to go to the other choice. As with
any plan it will work for some but others would be better with a different
company. Geico works well for VW owners from Anchorage as the ONLY Alaska
VW dealer is two miles away and you do not want to know what a tow bill
from the far corners of our limited road system can cost. My sons SO paid
about $750 last summer to get her Subaru hauled back to Anchorage from 190
miles out. We had our van towed thirty miles into Tok on the Alaska
highway in the middle of the night a few years ago and they charged $375.
