I have enjoyed the electric power steering on my Prius, except for the slight hum, which bothered me initially because it sounded like something wrong.  But of course, 25 years ago I would have thought anyone silly to have power steering on a small car like that.  As we all know, you can't buy a car without ps now.  mcneely
