For that matter, one could use a piece of fruit, or a vegetable. How practical that would be, I don't know, but with LEDs, the power requirement has dropped pretty low. Of course, the "battery" would degrade over time due to deterioration of the fruit or vegetable, regardless of what happens to the electrodes. mcneely
