That antenna should have come with a set of keys (2 - you only need one, one is a spare) to grab the slotted end of the antenna when it’s fully depressed. If you do not have these keys you will have to make up something that will grab that slot. The key has a slight hook on the end that lets it grab the slot when pulling up.
