I drove from Detroit to Tobermory Ontario http://tobermory.com/ and back this past week, saw 3 Westies and 2 T2's.
Saw one pulling in at the Bruce Peninsula National Park, where we stayed.  Got lots of thumbs up when folks saw my 84 Wolfie.
What a great place to camp!

After diving by the Tugs, we met a guy with an 84 Wolfie, painted silver, from Ottawa, with family in tow.  He had just replaced his tranny a few months back.
Told him about this list, and we shared stories.  His 84 had the relay to H4 100W headlights, but a switch system which he forgot to turn on.
Melted a few wires to his fuses.  
I'm the second owner of my 84, as lots of things can really mess up a Vanagon, when not installed properly.

My 84 made the 550 mile trip with only one slight issue, a brake light bulb needed to be reseated. (that's a 10 in my book!)

Drove 2200 km in 3 days across 4 provinces, and only passed 4 westies!
Normally I loose track before I get across Toronto on a long weekend!
