Subject: Re: Westies (or lack of...)

Not in 22 years! We made our first multi-week (2 weeks) Westy camping trip there in 1993. It was a great trip. We learned a lot about living in close quarters, expectations, and making it fun for everyone. It's a beautiful area.

Saw the scariest apparatus for working under vehicles ever there: primitive home-made ramps on the side of the hill straight off Mead Cove Road north of Black Point, IIRC. The level wheel ramps were made of what looked like 2x8s which were staked to the ground on one end and attached to trees about 6 feet off the ground on the other. From there it was maybe 200 foot drop down to the shore on the edge of the Laurentian Trough. I would not ever walk out on them, much less drive a vehicle on them.

Have fun, Ed
