I doubt the nipple itself is worn. If anything is worn out it would be the threads in the case. You need to do a better job tightening it or use some Loctite thread sealant. You will need to clean the oil in order for the Loctite to work.

I have a 1984, 1.9 liter Westfalia but the oil filter nipple comes out with the filter change every time. Is there a place I can get a similar one to replace it? What is the length and thread size of the original?
