Is it worth getting a exchange?Mike The Walker Vanagon mufflers aren't stainless. I was told this directly by Walker. The confusion is that Walker's advertising promotes their mufflers as being stainless without mentioning that there are isolated exceptions. The exceptions are a handful of legacy applications that were carried over from their previous muffler line and are not stainless - the Vanagon mufflers among them. Some of the larger vendors have erroneously copied/pasted the "stainless" bullet-point into their listings for every Walker muffler from that series without knowing of the exceptions. I should note that this information is as of a few months ago. It could have changed since then, but I think it's unlikely because at that time Walker told me they had no plans to produce the Vanagon mufflers in stainless.
