The sliding part of the mechanism is probably stuck in the middle; it's supposed to be at one end or the other. If repeated cycling of the system doesn't help, you'll have to pull off the inside panel and move it by hand. BTDT Then if you wish you can disconnect the actuator from the system until you get a chance to pull it all out, study it and tune it up.
