Subject: Supporting the pop top to remove the frame
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Ok - so in order to repair or replace my pop top frame mechanism without removing the poptop itself, I would need to support it. That's a simple concept, but I would like to know EXACTLY how! I'm envisioning a wooden jig something like THIS ONE <http://s74.photobucket.com/user/edtech2000/media/Pop%20Top%20Suppport.jpg.html>. I was thinking that an auto jack might go below the base, but never used one.

Harbor freight has a great little hydraulic table lift <http://www.harborfreight.com/500-lb-capacity-hydraulic-table-cart-60730-10041.html> that would probably be perfect, but I'm not sure I want to lay out the $$$. (a coupon would reduce it by $20.)

Sometimes I get a little too complicated. I'd like to know of other ways to securely and safely prop up the pop top so that the frame can be removed. Pictures would be very helpful, as I don't always understand the terminology.

Thanks! :-) Patti 90 Westy Automatic Los Angeles
