Hi Nick, no , the anti-spill check ball can't be installed on pre-1988 filler tubes.Robert1982 Westfalia

OK. Not getting any feedback on this issue. Only another question: Does
anyone know if the floaty ball end piece can be removed from the end and
installed on filler tube made pre 1988? Specifically, on a 85 tube that
has the same diameter?
