thanks Denis and others,

I now have the pump up and running.

I do have both fuses behind the driver’s seat red as that is how I found it. But should I change the water pump, refrigerator fan and indicator fuse back to white? I now know that on my 85 that is the fuse toward the front of the van.

thanks everyone. without this list and a handy iPhone app that lets sighted folks identify things like fuse colors, I would not have my sink pump running again. and, hopefully with improved wiring after all.

I also blued up my sink trap and all seems good again. though I’m ordering the parts anyway to be ready for a future disaster.

now , I’m going to temp the trip gods and try to address my squeaky breaks tomorrow, only 3 days before a big trip!
