lol...
I"m not having a fear ..
I'm just bothered by how sloppy and careless they are. It could kill
someone.
I've also seen a tow truck driver change a flat for a Vanagon owner ..
and put on an Original, Actively Failing Contentnetal tire.
'buy a new car' ..what does that mean ??
Never gonna happen with me .
chanties of you getting a flat ..pretty low I'd say.
I haven't had a flat tire on the road in years.

When I had the storage space for it, the first thing I would do when I bought a new car (I don't do that often, mind you) would be to buy a wheel and a full sized spare to replace the donut. But, with tire quality being what it is now, and without adequate storage room, I haven't done that for the Prius - still have the donut.

>>> T, every tire dealer nowadays automatically replaces valve stems, I believe. Discount Tire, which I use, does not line item them in the invoice, but rather claims that they are "free." Of course, that really means that they are included in the price. I think the reason for this is that they are liable for damages if there is a serious problem due to failure. No dealer wants to deal with anything that they can avoid. I always make it a point to query tire vendors about the valve stems, and make sure I get ones that are appropriate for the application.
