It's Friday, right? I'm happy with my '85 Westy and 12 year old Volvo wagon; my wife gets the newest car in the household. Get this, her 2014 BMW doesn't have an engine oil dipstick. You check the oil using the "HAL 9000" computer screen on the dashboard. If you let the oil level drop too low, the car calls BMW on its own then they call and email. I guess it won't be long before cars just go to the dealer after dropping us off at our destination. I spot a self driving test car with a hands off "driver" about once a week here in Silicon Valley. It all makes me just want to cruise the Vanagon along the coast highway with the windows rolled down.

Raymond
