Well, there are a couple of things I like about Bluetooth connectivity in both my westy and my jeep...being able to connect and control my itunes library for one...and dialing a phone by voice recognition.

The only good thing I can think of would be the ability to remotely diagnose problems. But that could be done without the Internet (like OnStar etc.)

I think there's a lot of emphasis on this because it will be yet another platform for advertisers. Car companies see $$$ in monetizing the screens that will be required for backup cameras beginning in 2018. Here's one scenario, driving to the grocery, Jiffy Lube coming up in about a mile, your car is due for an oil change, and voila--up pops an ad for Jiffy Lube on the dash screen.

I will never purchase a car or appliance that is part of "the Internet of things".
