Technology solves a lot of first-world problems, but it creates plenty as well. Remote system access is a bad idea. Remote disable? Remote unlock? Remote start? The only secure system is a system with no access. I'm keeping my tinfoil hat and my 90 Westy for as long as I can.

Of course I'm ignoring that I'm sending this from the ultimate personal tracking device and am wearing no hat at the moment. And did I mention I'm a software engineer?

Oh, and you should have seen the face of the BMW service rep when I asked if I could have traction control off by default because it's too intrusive. Ha!

Chris.
