I use a high quality synthetic grease ..
what exact brand is not important IMO.
I also lube about a dozen pivot and sliding points in the cross shaft ....
every single thing that pivots or slides ..
At the ends of the cross shaft...a high quality spray synthetic
grease..work that shaft back and forth until it pivots smoothly..
then all the contact and slide points associated with the TOB ..
for that I use 'black slimey' ....moly sulfide grease.
btw...so many of those input shafts have gotten trashed up by now , in
vanagons ..
that sometimes a good used one is a semi-rare thing in my experience.
