A nice older Mercedes Sedan makes a great 2nd car with a Vanagon .. they can be hyper reliable and long-liffed.

One of mine is 45 years old ..a 1970. Awesome car. Heck ..I have towed vanagons with it ...on the ground, not on a trailer, a dozen times at least ..up to 900 miles at a time. Even on black ice once, believe it or not.
