Like you, I also have a 2003 Jetta TDI and a pair of 2014 Jetta TDI's. They're all Sportwagens. My daughter's '03 is a 5 speed manual and my '14 is a 6 speed manual. My wife's Jetta is a 6 speed automatic. The '03 has 290,000 miles on it and gets a consistent 45 mpg, sometimes as high as 50. My '14 has more power and I tend to "use it" which is why I think I only get around 40-42 mpg. My wife's automatic is mostly used around town and it gets about the same as mine. My biggest complaint with the '14's is that they don't have the "burp valve" in the fuel filler neck and they just don't hold as much fuel, so their range per tank is less. Great cars, though.Mike M

Most comfortable car I ever sat in, but be ready to spend most of your quality time in your driveway/garage.
