Why do you wish to install them? If you need rear springs you really need rear springs. At this point al the original springs are compressed, stressed, and tired. I have replaced many that have failed due to corrosion and the related stress at the reduced size coils top and bottom. They can fail in such a way that they can fall out. If you need to lift the rear a bit some shims will do the job. It is normal for the 85 especially to sit high in the front. Put two folks in the front seats and they become level. I have done so many in the last couple years I keep asset for 2WD and Syncro in stock. My preference is for the springs from Syncro.org (Steve Schwenk). He also sells them through Van-Café.

The Ail Lift springs are a bit unique in that they sit inside the existing springs. They do not provide a great deal of lift but they do stiffen the rear and can have a nice effect on the ride if not over inflated. But first if there is a problem you should fix that first.

Hi Folks,

Is anyone out there using the Air lift supports in the rear springs of a Vanagon?

If so do you have a link to the correct ones? I somehow ordered the wrong ones and don’t want to repeat that mistake.
