Actually some of the newer aftermarket stereos have internal switch controls that minimize power draw, but can sometimes allow excessive currents. The CSS stereo I have when switched off, and still connected to constant +12V, draws about 35mA. I think most of that is the display backlight, which turns off when I remove power completely. The CSS stereo does keep memory settings for quite a while with power off, about 2 weeks or so. Jon
