Too bad it's not Fridae.
There are two very good examples of small rear engine/rear radiator US
Model Cars..
Renault Dauphine for one ..which could not even sustain running with
adequate cooling at 70 mph on a highway on a warm day.
Another one ..great little car actually ...1959 Fiat 600D.
kind of hokey ...fan was belt driven ...mounted on a pedastal coming off
the side of the block ..
sucket air through engine cover louvers and blew it forward thru a small
radiator and out and down.
it worked fine though.
Belt tension adjustment was by shims, ala VW Bettle arrangment.
there have been a few exotics with rear radiators and I believe Formula
1 cars use that arrangement.
OK...triva quiz ..
name a German car that is rear engine air-cooled, inline 4, OHC, from
the 60's. Sideways mounted rear engine.
a hint ..
name is just letters.
but rear radiator/s in a Vanagon ..someone build one please ..with huge
rear side scoops !
