It's a Westy that's been parked for at least a decade and the seller says it has a blown head gasket but he has a spare engine from a diesel Dasher that he's willing to sell with it for extra. Decent body considering and looks complete but filthy inside and out (critters in and pine trees out). Price makes it more attractive, so is something like this worth fixing up or passing along? Secondly, how does the '82 diesel stack up against the '83 for I-4 conversions? I already have a WBX Westy and would like the conversion pieces from this one if they are worth harvesting, or would the parts from an '83 be better for that? Just looking for someone to talk me into or out of this one. I have the time and can probably spare the space for a while, and the bride says even she can't complain about the purchase price. Input gratefully accepted. Stephen |
