My 2010 Golf TDI has experienced many EGR flapper and sensor failures often due to what the dealer has called carbon/soot build up. For the past few weeks I have been dealing with a second High Pressure Fuel Pump failure. The first HPFP repair was covered under warranty. This most recent failure was denied  coverage under the extended warranty that VW issued to cover this widespread problem (they are claiming the transfer pump failed first, causing the HPFP failure). The estimate the dealer quoted was $5,400. I declined their service and had the car towed back home. The tow truck driver quipped, "Most be people have their car towed to the dealer, not FROM it." I have been researching aftermarket solutions and legal action since. VW has indeed cut several corners on these cars and now they have been caught big time. At this point I am loathe to accept any dealer "repair". I am hoping for a buy-back. These cars should not be on the road. Fortunately I have finally gotten my '87 Syncro hard top in great running condition and it has become my daily driver. I couldn't have done it without the help of the LIST and our vendors. A big THANK YOU just barely begins to express my gratitude to you all.

I know a lot of us have the vehicles in question.

Question to owners: Are you planning to go in for the recall?
