People used to bring in knuckles to the shop for us to press the old ball joints out & & the new ones in. The owner would tell them we'd get to it & come back in 2 hours. He'd bring it back to me (his only employee). We used a vice, a 5# hammer, assorted drifts & the appropriate sized socket to remove the old one and put the new one in.
