Subject: Need a diesel vanagon part, heads up Scott

I was contacted yesterday by a Vangoner who is stranded in Mt Shasta California for want of one of the outer (alternator) sheaves of the diesel Vanagon two-pulley setup. Let's call it the top pulley of the stack, the one with the shims under it that Scott hates. I am figuring that since Scott removes every one he comes across he has a spare.

I have a spare too but I can't find mine. I can find every other bit and piece of that engine but one of those sheaves.

If anyone has one to sell to get this guy going again, I will arrange the sale either directly or through me. I'm not going to add anything to the cost, just would like to see the part at the shop by monday as I promised him before I began my futile search.

Jim
