Even is North America there are plenty of places to camp or picnic where there are no tables or poorly situated tables. I often prefer such places. Having the builtin kitchen frees you from having to set up a kitchen outside. Just lift the lid over the kitchen and you are cooking. No worries about rain or mud or bugs. Wash your hands, wash your food, wash your dishes, as needed. People are very adaptable and any model Vanagon is head and shoulders over most other vehicles for day to day living in. Each model has pluses and minuses. Calling one better than another is highly subjective and dependent upon circumstances. Mark
