I agree, but I'll add to #1: The dealer will issue a "certificate of proof" that the repair has been made.  Latest thing I'm hearing is once the fix is released, jurisdictions here that require testing to get license tabs or title transfers won't do an emissions test without proof that the cars are fixed. Makes sense.


Folks where emissions testing is not required will be looking for deals on high performance unrepaired TDIs!

1. VW will issue a recall, reprogram your engine and give you a voucher to be used later


 


2. same as #2 but VW will give you some cash...


 


3. VW will propose to buy back and give you a "fair" price...


 


4. VW will do nothing and let the US Gvt decides for them...


 


which one you pick?
