I was able to break it loose renting an O2 sensor socket set from NAPA, and I only learned that the bung was slightly oval. Or the O2 sensor was oval, but probably both. It would turn back and forth about 1/8", and that was it. A long enough bar might work, but if not a new bung and sensor is the fix. Any good muffler shop will have the bung, but it's best for you to bring the sensor. See www.rockauto.com. $53 for the Bosch OE sensor. You just reminded me about the 22 mm extended socket I bought 4 years ago just to remove the O2 sensor. I used this on my old 2.1 wbx engine. I had to cut the wires next to the sensor then used the socket and a long bracket bar. Worked great! To many tools I guess and an lost in space mind. Lol I'll try it when I get back. Dennis

No,luck using my wrenches . Everything is rusted together. The catalytic converter is only about a year old. Is there a better way to remove the sensor? Should I use my touch to heat the sensor ? Any ideas would be great. I might get to Quebec yet just have to get this done. >> >> Regards, >> Dennis >> >> Dennis Jowell >> Scotch Hollow Farm >> Newbury, Vermont >> > |
