The people who check IAT's on waterboxers are people who are trying to figure out why the engine is failing emissions tests. The Digitool displays intake air temps.

I'm not claiming the oil cooler induced high IAT causes a problem for the emissions test. I was actually hoping someone else could tell me if that could be the case. I have seen the unusually high intake temps and wondered if they could be a factor. It seems vehicle manufacturers go to some effort to supply the engine with fresh intake air unheated by the engine.
