use good hose clamps. the nicest ones I've found are german with curled up edges so they don't dig into the hose.

the common american kind ....whether the smaller # 4 and $ 6 size.. or the more common wider type, have sharp edges that dig into the hose some.

i'm sure good hose clamps can be found online somewhere.

oh...one of my many little tricks.. if the metal pipe is corroded , I like to put a little permatex high tack gasket sealer on the pipe there. Prevents/reduces corrosion, comes apart just fine some day in the future. scott
