YES! I found that out when I cleaned the probes of the level sensor and the connection. Needle used to ride just off the bottom white bar, and now it's just above the LED.

In my experience you could change the position of the needle by changing--improving or degrading--any of the connections between the sensor in the tank and the instrument on the dash. Just slightly.
