If there was any chance to fix it that should have been attempted at the first sound of trouble. After the works crashes it is amazing how many parts get busted up and off. I don’t know if these regulators and motors are easily available.

For months now my passenger window sounded like the gears were eating themselves.  A few days ago it stopped the grinding noise and now moves very slowly up/down.  I've used it seldom since I bought the Vanagon in July.  I'm about to replace the door panel so wondered if I should visit the local LKQs in anticipation of the need for repair parts.


Anyone had this lovely VW experience with repair advice to share before I open up the door?  Oh, and parts/source numbers will get you a pint at The Lucky Labrador next Monday!
