It's not critical, looks to me as though the Westfalia people eyeballed it on mine. My passenger side one is 1.2 inches down from the headliner edge, 1.2 inches aft of the point were the door edge molding begins to turn forward, same distance above and forward of the coat hook as the slider curtain snap is above and behind it. Driver's side is similar but not matched as well. Is that good enough for you?
