Neil,

It's the look of the grill that I like. I don't need any more light with my 80/100 watt H4 lights (I have an '85). Even for my old eyes that's plenty for the limited back road driving I do. I'd just leave them burned out, but if they are broken that's a problem. Maybe you could ask Ron to sell you one for $100 instead of a pair for $180!

I'd go to a plastics fabrication shop and have a "lens" made. Hmm, maybe I'm on to something!

Stuart

So I've searched out these inner headlights for a MK1 GTI and Parts4Euro.com has the lights. They're close....but...tThe adjuster tabs are not quite in the right spot to be a drop in replacement. And since I have found no one that sells an exact replacement headlight, I think I may order a set of these (with halos!!!) and drill out into my SA bracket where the new adjuster hole needs to be. That way, If I ever need another headlight lens, it seems the old MK1 GTI headlights will be available, at least more so than the currently unavailable SA 5 3/4" headlight lens. Has anyone replaced the inner headlight lens only and what did you use!?!
