I used JB Weld to inbed a heavy wire that had two legs standing out, just as the two plastic ones were. Now they are a little adjustable and real strong. Zoltan

I took some inch-long-or so number eight bolts from the hardware store, drilled and tapped straight into the plastic body from the back and screwed them in. The heads catch on the inside of the door panel. They never gave me any trouble.
