This adapter connects to the propane tank fill valve and works by allowing you to transfer propane from a disposable tank into your main tank. It does not installed. You use it when needed and then have to store it somewhere for next time.

Hi Denis or others,
I also ordered the adaptor but from the Amazon link in the below message.
It arrived today and I feel like I must be missing something. How do I attach this thing to the existing propane plumbing?
One end attaches to a small tank and the other end is identical to that on a large gas grill that would go into a typical grill tank.
Somehow I thought this just attached directly to the filler on the Westfalia propane tank.
What am I missing?
Remember being blind I can’t see the pictures or reed the small paper that came with it that might answer my question. I thought from the add only this item was needed. Now I suspect I need to find another item to go with it.
Can someone fill me in?
thanks,
Eric Caron

I used the adaptor this morning and it worked perfectly. The 1 lb. bottle emptied completely. I also ordered the ACME fitting. $34.95 +22.00 +6.00 for shipping. Sort of expensive but I didn't want to us the" extend-a_stay" and no new plumbing required. I always have 2-1 lb canisters onboard our Westy for our small propane grille we use outside the camper. I could use any residue left in the 1 lb for our grille. Now I am all set if I run out of propane I can easily remedy the problem. More peace of mine.
