Been down the Baja peninsula a LOT....in the Catavina area there is Rancho Santa Inez, better than the El Presidente hotels, by far. Rancho Santa Inez has been in the same family for many years and was a traditional stopping point before there was a paved road in that part of Baja...There is a dry lake bed and camping, with showers and a restaurant. This nicer, safer quieter spot to overnight is a few mile south of Catavina.... Don't expect good food along the highway in Baja....Baja roadside cafes kinda suck. "Dried Manta ray wing tacos?" sure....if you like em....
