Caught in the big wind at Spokane. Power out for ten days. Actually I fared better than that. We just bought a new house west of town. The day after the big blow (among four power companies, 200k subscribers without power, most for at least five days, and up to ten) wife and I checked on the house. No damage, and the power came on while we were here.

So, we spent another night at the cold, dark rental, and when Avista started talking days to get things up again, we gathered up enough stuff to get by and came out here. Then our daughter and her family joined us. Then her in-laws who'd come up for T-day joined us. We had 8 people in the sparsely furnished, but warm and lighted house. We even managed a traditional T-day turkey dinner.

But we had no landline phone and no internet.

Power finally back on at the rental on Saturday last, after ten days without.
