Oh1 The floor jack will work. My solution addresses the possibility of not finishing in one shot and/or having to move the van with the bar out. You will also find this hardware a blessing when the transmission has to come out as it can support the front of the engine.

Don't remember the exact quote (John Muir) "A $10 tool will do $100 job and more than once".

I'll add if you avoid getting hurt or frustrated, priceless!

Dennis

Great write up. You always provide a wealth of information. Very much appreciated. Would a floor jack suffice to hold the engine up or would it be in the way? When installing the new mounts, would they go in one at a time and then the carrier bar or do the mounts get attached to the carrier bar and then to the support bar. I assume the mounts go in separately, the reverse of the way the came out...just seems like it might be difficult getting the top bolt of the mount through the hole in the support bar and then threading the nut on.

Thx Pat
