The struts on your other van are the wrong sort, or it's an early one. Page 11 in the '87 owners manual: "The open hatch will stay in position at any desired height." This was done so that people in wheelchairs, for example, would not have to call the fire department to send a ladder truck so they could close the hatch. I believe the change was in place by '84, but I can't be arsed to go search out manuals to see when it happened. Yrs, d
