Do not the comments on full lock steering noise and the electrical connections being close. As for the full lock steering one should avoid doing that anyway. At full lock the seals in the rack have to hold back the full pressure of the pump. Sure way to make a rack leak. Same goes for avoiding turning the steering wheel when the van is not rolling or turning the wheel with a tire forced against a curb or other obstacle.

Grrrrr!

Hose started leaking. Installed and removed four used hoses before finding a good one. It should be easy enough to make one of these hoses up, but there is a "restrictor" about midway the length of it, and without it the system is noisy as all getout. BTDT! Didn't want to go that route again. How does the restrictor work? And can the cracked/split section be removed and a new section spliced in. I have looked at some new ones -non-VW - and am not impressed -especially with the price. The hose diameter is also a question for me,

Anybody else run into this?
