It's always "something" with these rigs eh? ;) Good on ya. Subsequent dash removals will be easier.

My heater box had a grey sealant on the box edges. (ignore heater nipple comment) image:

Cleaning this sealant added time; I literally scraped it off. The plastic was pretty robust though. Any metal clips holding the box together are prone to flying around the shop when removed.

Consider lubing the control cables.

Though this is from the POV of someone who modified the heater box and cable positions but....

take a picture, or make marks, of where each cable installs at lever and clamps to bracket. If cable end reinstalled in the wrong hole, it may bind and-or kink when used. If length of exposed cable is too long, the cable can be prone to bending. All that said, I highly doubt the cables were modified.
