Especially bad are those blue headlight bulbs that are supposed to look like an expensive Xenon discharge headlight, but are just a bluish bulb coating over a high-powered halogen bulb - they don't have the same spectrum as either regular halogen or Xenon discharge, and the spectrum they do have is one that the human eye doesn't respond to well - the eye doesn't close down to glare properly with that spectrum, causing more night blindness, not less. (Friend in the optometric/opthalmic industry are pushing to have those fake blue bulbs banned....)
