When I did the upper A arm bushings, there was a choice between inexpensive off shore sourced bushings or some other brand. Meyle? The latter have lasted some miles but of late, have started to squeak from time to time. I drive more than may average share of logging roads. I tack welded these in. I'm certain I didn't damage the part in doing so. I also did these bushings in my '88 but can't recall brand name of part. Ain't that helpful? lol.

There is a mile long thread on these bushings over on thesamba.com Vanagon forum. My overall sense is that if one opts to install the inexpensive bushings, they won't last long. Not saying you did this but would suggest to other folks that it's worth paying more for this part.

Neil.
