I saw a really cool interview that Jay Leno did a while back. He was interviewing a Honda engineer about fuel cell tech. In it he said more or less - "This car is what will enable me to keep driving my old cars." I love that sentiment. The number of true car guys/gals out there is so small. Most people would be just fine driving a reasonable sized hydrogen car. I'd probably drive one for commuting. I'd be driving my Westy or my 911 on the weekends though!
Another note, Mazda built a hydrogen RX-7 back in the 90's. It actually burned the hydrogen as fuel. A bit different way to get the same result.
