Subject: a trick to share... window..
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

I am in the process to replace all the weatherstrips on the windows of my van..

everything was quite easy except the forward vertical felt

http://www.van-cafe.com/home/van/page_535_619/forward-vertical-felt-weatherstrip-1-per-door.html

it's very soft and flexible and it's not easy to slide it in, almost impossible with the glass in place and I don't want to remove the glass ...

so here's the trick..

- remove or partially remove the door panel - do not cut the new vertical felt to size yet.. - make a small hole on one end and slide a 6" to 12" zip tie in it - squirt some silicone lubricant into the bottom end of the rail - slide the zip tie in the rail and pull the zip tie down till you can grab the vertical felt at the bottom with your hand - grab it and pull it down till the other end reach the top end of the rail - push everything in place and trim the bottom end (I leave it as is, no trim), remove the zip tie

Finish up with the scrapers and the top felt channel, since the door panel was off, lube the window mechanism with white grease and the door lock mechanism too...

voilĂ  you're done. ..

an expert such as our friend Stacy may have a better idea... [image: :-D] <http://www.guitareclassiquedelcamp.com/posting.php?mode=smilies&f=140#>
